SUNBEDS AND BEACH BAR
Our dedicated beach team are on hand to organise your beach beds, provide towels and serve you drinks and snacks from our beach bar whilst you relax (prices vary please enquire). Whilst other beaches do not set up until May, we like to open early on 1st April until the end October (or later if weather permits). We do not take bookings for sun beds.
ACCESS
Both the Restaurant and beach at Maria’s are ideally situated and reachable by a tarmac road with car parking spaces right in front of the restaurant and beach. The sand is a simple stroll across a flat wooden pathway (our beach is set up for wheelchair access and is also ideal for families with young children). Please note from June to October the parking nearest to the beach is pay and display (via the local council). There are still plenty of car park spaces where you do not have to pay. There is an area by the beach access for drop offs for Taxis & general unloading for your convenience.
CONVENIENT FACILITIES
Toilets are close, at the back of the restaurant (including a shower, disabled toilet and baby changing table). Lifeguards work on our beach in high season and a coloured flag will alert you to the safety of the sea (green, yellow, red flags).
“BLUE FLAG” AWARDED BEACH
Maria’s beach area is known as Praia Do Garrão Poente (West) and is one of the best beaches in the Algarve as it is consistently awarded with Blue Flag status based on compliance with 33 criteria. The local area is “Parque Natural da Ria Formosa” a heritage protected area of lagoons and wet areas that support the local wildlife population. You will find miles of golden sand dunes and beautiful, natural surroundings.
